Artist Spotlight

We’ve partnered with a previous Creative Enterprise cohort member, Fat Gratitude, to create a batch of brilliant Artist Spotlight videos. These videos highlight members within this vast and diverse region of artists we have. Whether you’re a painter, DJ and music curator, muralist, ceramicist, printmaker, dancer, or any other type of creative, we’re interested in showing off what you do, because remember that #weallbuildthis together!

Residing in the Great PNW, Matt uses unconventional materials to represent personal experiences and emotions through abstract, realism, patterns, and natural formations.

Living in Spokane all his life, Darrien has managed to contribute and collaborate within several fields of the art scene the city has to offer. Whether DJing as rosethrow®, on-stage lyricism with his hip-hop group Truehoods, or creating film and graphic design work, Darrien aims for simplicity and boldness.

You’ve probably seen Amber's work around town—like the interactive mural she created for Chaos Arcade’s Invaders from the Planet Chaos game. Amber is all about bringing that pop of color and positivity to Spokane, and we could all use a little more of that in our lives.

Do you have a favorite mug? Every piece from KJ Pottery starts with a simple bag of clay and is thoughtfully shaped into something you’ll hopefully reach for every week. Whether it’s a bowl you use to feed your kids or that special piece you bring out for guests, KJ Pottery celebrates life, food, and community—handmade and intentional.

Toby transforms spaces with her vibrant, large-scale botanical paintings and murals. She hopes her flowers bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. Toby finds that art adapts and changes throughout life — but one constant for her is the realization that she was created to create. Bringing her visions to life in tangible form is her greatest passion - whether through paintings, jewelry, upholstery or fashion. Art speaks where words cannot.

Challenges are the fuel behind Reinaldo's artwork. He creates because at the end of those challenges he knows he'll be better for it – and woodcut printmaking is no easy process. This art form fulfills a sense of mediation, most of the time for hours, when engaging with it. Reinaldo's viewpoint on printmaking is similar to cooking. Sharing a meal, his artwork, and bringing people together as family.
